How AcquireLender makes money, in words a human would actually use. Most sites bury this in fine print. This page is the fine print, written to be read.
The matching flow works. Lender names, testimonials, and the big homepage numbers are mock until real affiliate partners are approved. We will not send you traffic under a fake brand. When a partner is approved we swap their real name, terms, and tracking link into the config.

The short version
- If you apply through a link on this page, we may earn a referral commission. That does not change your rate or our match order.
- That money never changes who we match you with or how lenders rank.
- Paid “Featured” placements are always labeled, and never sorted above their true position.
- We are not a lender. We make introductions; lenders make credit decisions.
- Every rate you see here is an estimate. The lender sets your actual rate.
How referral fees work
When a live partner link exists and you apply through it, that lender may pay AcquireLender a referral fee. If you apply through a link on this page, we may earn a referral commission. That does not change your rate or our match order. That is how the concierge stays free for you, you pay $0 to use AcquireLender.
The referral fee comes out of the lender’s marketing budget. It is never added to your rate, your fees, or your loan amount. You get the same terms whether you arrive through AcquireLender or walk in the lender’s front door on your own.
No listed name currently pays us. Names in the directory are example profiles until a partner program is approved. We will not send you traffic under a fake brand.
Compensation never changes rankings
Our matching engine scores every eligible example profile against your answers: how their estimated rate band fits your credit range, how their funding speed fits your timeline, and how their published example floors overlap what you typed, not approval odds. Those scores are computed from each profile’s sample terms, and the formula has no input for “pays us more.”
A lender cannot buy a higher match percentage, a better rank, or a spot in your top three. If a lender who pays us nothing scores higher for your situation than one who pays us well, you see them in exactly that order. We explain the full methodology on our About page.
Featured placements are always labeled
Some lenders pay for visibility, a “Featured” tag in our lender directory. Two rules keep that honest:
- Featured is always labeled. If a placement is paid, you’ll see the tag on it. No exceptions, no quiet boosts.
- Featured never changes results. Featured status does not affect match scores, match order, or sort order. Sort the directory by best estimated rate and a featured lender appears exactly where its rate puts it, no higher.
We are not a lender
AcquireLender does not lend money, make credit decisions, set rates, or process applications. When you apply, you apply directly with the lender, on the lender’s secure site, under the lender’s terms and privacy policy. We’re the introduction, not the bank.
That also means the final decision is always the lender’s. Our job is to point you toward the doors where your profile realistically fits, so you spend your applications where they’re most likely to count.
What “est. APR*” means
Every rate on AcquireLender carries two deliberate warnings: “est.” and an asterisk. Here is exactly what they mean:
- est., the rate is an estimate, based on the range each lender reports for borrowers in a similar credit range. It is not an offer, not a quote, and not your rate.
- APR, annual percentage rate: the yearly cost of a loan including certain fees, which makes it the fairest single number for comparing lenders.
- The asterisk (*), points to this page. Your actual rate depends on your credit profile, income, loan amount, term, and the lender’s underwriting at the moment you apply.
So when you see 7.2–12.5% est. APR*, treat it as an illustrative band or, once a live partner is in the config, the range that partner reported. It is not an offer. The lender's underwriting decides your actual rate. Example-directory figures can change when we swap in a real partner.
A match is not a preapproval
We do not preapprove anyone. A match means your self-reported answers fit the criteria in our config. You can check qualification on the lender's site if a live link exists. Lenders verify income, review credit (only if you apply with them), and apply underwriting rules we cannot see.
A match percentage is a fit estimate, not a commitment to lend, and not a guarantee of approval.
Checking your matches on AcquireLender never affects your credit score. Everything the concierge asks is a self-reported range. A hard credit inquiry can only happen later, directly with a lender, after you choose to apply, and the lender will tell you before it happens.
